I am DominiRican (Dominican and Puerto Rican), born and raised in the Bronx, New York. I come from a family of professional teachers. I on the other hand wanted to pursue a career as a Child Psychologist so I obtained my Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in English but God had a completely different plan for my life.
I ended up in retail working for Target. My time there would shape me as a leader. It exposed my weakness and nurtured my strengths. I still had a passion for children. Through Target I would often volunteer for anything that involved being around children. After more than ten years God closed that chapter of my life and opened the door for me to become the Assistant Principal at a Preschool. This was a completely new experience for me. I learned a lot of do’s and don’ts as it pertains to childcare. I have to admit I was very disappointed with my job but being around the children is what kept me going. I started to get the sense that my time there would not be as long as I thought.
Shortly after having my second son, my oldest started kindergarten. Half way into the school year we decided to pull him out so that I could homeschool him myself. As I am writing this it has been almost two years since I left my job to be home with my children. The lessons I have learned is what inspired me to start this blog page. I am just a mom with an innate passion for children. My desire is to share my honest experience while I am still on this journey of motherhood. Children are a gift from God. They are naturally filled with joy, love, and laughter which are things we tend to lose as we experience life.
